Sony’s PlayStation Productions division unveiled several film and TV projects based on PlayStation games at CES 2025. The company’s announcement highlighted its ambitions to bring its games to the big screen and television.

One of the most talked-about announcements was the second season of The Last of Us series. A trailer was shared, confirming its release in April 2025. The trailer featured Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, showcasing intense action scenes.
After the cancellation of the Netflix series, a Horizon: Zero Dawn movie was announced. The film, which tells the story of Aloy, is in its early stages of development by Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions. The movie is expected to stand out with its visual effects and atmospheric setting, taking place in a post-apocalyptic world.
Upcoming adaptations also include the Until Dawn film, scheduled for release in theaters in April 2025, starring Peter Stormare as Dr. Hill. Following its recent success, the Helldivers 2 movie is also in the works.
Finally, it was announced that the Ghost of Tsushima anime will be released in 2027. The anime, inspired by both the single-player story mode and the multiplayer Legends mode, will be directed by Takanobu Mizuno.
